CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHY IM BANNED FROM DOING ANYTHING ON WIKIPEDIA PLEASE BY SOME MOD/PERSON NAMED "CAN'T SLEEP, CLOWN WILL EAT ME".i'VE DONE NOTHING AT ALL WHATSOEVER EXCEPT ASKED A QUESTION ABOUT PHOTONS OR SOMETHING ON A DISCUSSION PAGE ONCE...PLEASE UNBAN ME TY

What account were you banned on? Nishkid64 19:19, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What was your IP address? Also, there is no policy regarding creating accounts to edit. I believe your IP address was blocked temporarily, and the block had just expired, which explains why you were able to edit now. Anyway, please tell me your IP address, so I can verify this. Nishkid64 20:21, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How do I find out my ip? G2thef 08:05, 12 December 2006 (UTC)G2theF[reply]

Go to Google and search for my ip or my ip address. You will get number of sites, click appropriate site and you will get you IP number. If, you are using some school or cyber cafe for internet, someone else could have done something worth block. Once you check results of Google "my ip" search, you will know which one is right site, they are usually self explanatory. You have to just click that site and you could get your IP. In alternate just click this link [1] and you will get a number which will be your IP. swadhyayee 15:49, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check this link [[2]], and look for blocks done by Can't Sleep... See the time of block and check the blocks for your IP, you will get the result. In block, you can put message on your talk page but can't edit any other page. Mostly, you can view any page of Wikipedia during block. Some blocks are time bound but I can see Can't sleep... has blocked two or so IPs for indefinitely. swadhyayee 16:05, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IP address

[edit]

Go to [3] and it'll tell you your IP address. Just copy and paste that and tell me what it is, and I'll see what exactly happened. Nishkid64 18:00, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

TY.This is my IP from that site {24.36.92.155}.I have only used MY computer at home for surfing the net(atleast for wiki).I do however read a video game forum where some friends are and there does happen to be some hackers there so that is kind of why I was thinking I should ask what happened here (the ban) because I was curious. G2thef 19:06, 19 December 2006 (UTC)GtotheF[reply]

This IP was warned in April, 2006 and May, 2006. You can go to this link [[4]] and see the warnings. If, this is a shared IP, pl. let the admins know here. Are you still blocked? swadhyayee 03:26, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, well this isn't a shared ip and I was warned back in May and yet I was banned/lost privelages just a couple weeks ago which is December so I don't know why I was temporarily banned (I'm not nomore) by the Can't Sleep guy since I know I did nothing recently at all. That's why I'm asking here.G2thef 06:33, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have left a message with your blocking admin. You should normally put a tameplate to get un-blocked. I will put one more message here. Putting tameplate provide alert to other admins and they can take interest in un-blocking you. swadhyayee 07:26, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You just put your reasons removing "xxx".

[edit]

{{unblock|xxx }}.

My apologies for any inconvenience, G2thef, but I am having difficulty locating any record of your IP address, IP range, or account (G2thef) as being blocked. Would you please copy and paste the entire message that appears on your screen so that I or another administrator can review this? You may also contact me via email if you wish, my address is posted on my user page. Thank you, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 07:34, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
24.36.92.155 was warned a few times in March, April and May 2006, but never blocked. This account was created 2 weeks ago this December. Edit and be merry my friend. Can't sleep, clown will eat me 07:42, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are not blocked is the message from admin.

[edit]

"You are not blocked" is the message from admin. Try editing and if problem, leave message to unblock as I suggested. swadhyayee 07:49, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to follow up and confirm, if you can edit outside of your personal talk page, as you did with Talk:Main Page on December 9, 2006 [5], you are definitely not blocked. If for some strange reason you are still running into problems with editing, please place the {{unblock}} request on this page as instructed. Happy holidays, Can't sleep, clown will eat me 07:58, 22 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ya I know I'm not blocked now, I was asking WHY was I blocked in the first place by Can't Sleep guy recently because I know I didn't do anyting. SoooOo I was just curious.Anyone know? Was it a glitch with Can't Sleep guys computer or something?G2thef 09:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)G2theF[reply]

Hi!

He said to me that you were never blocked. One of the possibility, I wish you to check is, if you have selected Wikipedia page with blocked notice as your favourite page in internet browser and you select to view Wikipedia from your favourite page, you might get a wrong alert that you are blocked. Since, you have been able to put message on my talk page, you are no longer blocked. He says he did not block you so there is no reason to press him for reasons. He has been blocking to many so he wouldn't remember. Forget it and enjoy editing Wikipedia in constructive manner. Wish you a happy and prosperous new year. Cheers. swadhyayee 15:44, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't have wiki in my favs but anyways, I was temporarily banned and we find out the guy who did it (can't sleep clowns will eat me guy) says he doesn't know why he did it.Ooook just checking.G2thef 09:50, 31 December 2006 (UTC)G2theF[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia! I am glad to see you are interested in discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Anatoly Fomenko are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 09:54, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Don't feel Alone About This

[edit]

It seems like Wikipedia does "in no way" want new nor original content. Perhaps they really don't want you to re-edit or add new, uncited work whether the original is correct or not.

I placed an interesting comment on Cameron Scott's and Dougweller's Talk/Discussion pages. I am waiting for more intelligent answers to come. Sincerely--Rujacgeh (talk) 17:15, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Before I made a log-in, I added this to a discussion page and was told no "original" content is wanted: (cur | prev) 03:06, 9 May 2010 137.186.166.120 (talk) (63,063 bytes) (changed second date 362 A.D. to 376 A.D.) (undo) --Rujacgeh (talk) 17:22, 9 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
